Introducing the K-New Technology Team
The K-New Technology Team conducts research on the multifaceted impacts of artificial intelligence and robotics on Korea’s rapidly aging society, while also investigating the distinctive trajectory of technological development in Korea as a late-industrializing country.
Our research focuses on elderly-oriented healthcare systems and state-led cases of industrial innovation, adopting an interdisciplinary approach that integrates soft robotics, technology policy analysis, and industrial economic history. Through this approach, we aim to establish a theoretical framework for a uniquely Korean model of technological development.
Building on Seoul National University’s role as a central hub, the team fosters interdisciplinary research and educational infrastructure while expanding global networks—ultimately contributing to setting international standards for contemporary Korean studies.
